Early Life
Cardi B was born as Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar on Sunday, October 11, 1992 (age 28 years; as in 2021), in Washington Heights, Manhattan, U.S. In her childhood she used to stay at her paternal grandmother’s home in Highbridge, New York City.
She derived her stage name, Cardi B from a popular rum brand, Bcardi that was formerly her nickname. She once said that she was a gang member of the Bloods in her youth and few years ago she told media that she would never encourage joining a gang.
Cardi used to work at a delicatessen in Tribeca and was fired by her manager who then suggested her to be a stripper. She told in an interview that after being a stripper she was able to complete her education and live a well suited life before becoming a popular rapper.
She enrolled in Borough of Manhattan Community College although she dropped out eventually. While stripping, she lied to her mother about her real work and told that she was earning money by babysitting. Finally, she became a star after her videos went on hike over Instagram and Vine.

Career
Cardi B debuted as a cast of the sixth season of the VH1 reality television series Love & Hip Hop: New York. After then she left the show for further pursuing her music career.
She released her first ever mixtape, Gangsta Bitch Vol.1 on March 7, 2016 and after one year in 2017, Cardi B released her second mixtape, Gangsta Bitch Vol.2.
She collaborated with Bruno Mars and they released their duet, Please Me on February 15, 2019. This was their second collaborated song after Finesse (2018). In 2019, she made her film debut with Hustlers, directed by Lorene Scafaria, opposite Jennifer Lopez and rest of the cast.
