Demetria Devonne Lovato was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on 20 August 1992. She was raised in Dallas, Texas by former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader mother Dianna De La Garza and a musician and engineer father Patrick Martin Lovato. She began her training for music and acting since she was 10. Demi was extensively bullied in high school that is why she received her high school diploma in April 2009 through homeschooling.

As an actor
Demi commenced her career by starring in a popular American children’s series “Barney & Friends” (2002-2004). Then, she was featured in many minor roles in television such as “Prison Break” (2006), a Disney short show “As the Bell Rings” (2007-2008), a sit-com “Just Jonas” (2007), an American reality show “Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream” (2008), another sit-com “Sonny with a Chance” (2009-2011), an American musical comedy-drama “Glee” (2013). Moreover, when she was just 19 she has judged “The X-Factor” (2012-2013).
As far as movies are concerned Demi rose to fame by her debut movie “Camp Rock” (2008) where she played the lead role and became a teenage role model overnight. Demi also acted in a concert movie with Jonas brothers titled “Jonas Brothers: The 3D concert experience” (2009). Demi starred alongside Selena Gomez in “Princess Protection Program” (2009), then, reprised her role in “Camp Rock: The Final Jam” (2010). Personal Life
Demi owns a lavish Mediterranean style house in Los Angeles, California. Her parents divorced when she was two years old, after which she was not close to her father. She has an older sister Dallas, younger maternal half-sister Madison De La Garza and an older paternal half-sister Amber. Demi was in a six-year-long relationship with actor Wilmer Valderrama. Demi also struggles with various problems such as depression, eating disorder, self-harm and mainly drug addiction. In her interviews and documentary, she openly says that the cocaine addiction started when she was seventeen and was in a rehab in 2011. Even after that, she was not completely sober which affected her career to a great extent which was a huge wake-up call for her then, she was determined to get a hold of her struggle and joined a sober-living facility in Los Angeles. In 2017 demi celebrated her five year anniversary to sobriety but recently in 2018, she was rushed to a Medical Centre in Los Angeles due to reported overdose. Demi is now out of recovery and is now in a treatment facility.
