Nicholas Caradoc Hoult is the third of the four children of Glenis and Roger Hoult and was born on 7 December 1989 in Wokingham, England. His great aunt Dame Anna Neagle was one of the popular actresses of her time. Although his primary interest was to study English, he was later drawn towards acting and attended Sylvia Young Theatre School in London.
Career
At the very beginning, Hoult acted on a theatre production The Caucasian Chalk Circle. He landed his first film role when he was five in the 1996 drama Intimate Relations.
He subsequently acted in several television series such as Casualty, Silent Witness, The Bill, Doctors, Magic Grandad, Waking the dead, Stars, Skins, Wallander and recently Robert Chicken. Among these, he gained immense fame from the UK TV series Skins (2007-2013) which got 8.2/10 rating from IMDb. He played the role of Tony Stonem for two years which was a manipulative, egocentric, anti-hero character that was enjoyed thoroughly by the audience.

The English actor got his breakthrough role when he was cast by Matthew Vaughn as Hank McCoy/ Beast in the superhero film X-Men: First Class (2011), a prequel to the franchise. Later in 2013, he appeared in Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Slayer and a zombie rom-com Warm Bodies directed by Jonathan Levine. Additionally, in the year 2014 and 2016, he reprised his role of Hank McCoy/Beast for the American superhero movie X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse respectively. Both the movies were globally admired and were one of the highest grossing movies of their respective years and the performance of Nicholas was immensely praised. Another successful and popular movie of Hoult is Mad Max: Fury Road which was screened at 68th Cannes Film Festival in May 2015.
