Robin Williams (full name Robin McLaurin Williams) was a renowned and brilliant actor and comedian. Robin was most remarkable for his gagster, stand-up, extemporization, and improvisational comedy style. Williams earned the wings when he won the Academy Award for his performance in “Goodwill Hunting” as Dr. Sean Maguire in the category of Best Supporting Actor in 1998. Robin performed multifarious and remarkable roles including both drama and comedy on Theater, TV, and Film. Robin committed suicide in despondency at the age of 63 on August 11, 2014.

Robin McLaurin Williams was born on July 21, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, to Robert Fitzgerald Williams, a senior executive in Ford Motor Company, and Laurie McLaurin, a former model. Williams had two siblings, his two elder half-brothers, Robert and McLaurin. Williams attended Gorton Elementary School and middle school at Deer Path Junior High School for his early education in Lake Forest, Illinois. Williams was an introvert and reserved boy until he engaged himself in the high school drama department, and emerged as the funniest boy. Williams attended Red Wood High School and after high school graduation, he enrolled to study Political Science in Claremont Men’s College in Claremont, California but later dropped out of the college. Robin glom onto a scholarship to Julliard School and moved to New York City. William quit from the Julliard without completing his study during his junior year to scout out his acting career.

Williams started stand-up comedy in the mid-1970s and delivered his debut performance at the Holy City Zoo in San Francisco. He shifted to Los Angeles and forged ahead on gagster shows until he performed his debut “Laugh In” on the TV in 1977. Robin performed live TV show “Reality…What a Concept” in 1979 and awarded with Grammy Award for his performance. He performed some big hits shows on the TV including, Off The Wall (1978), An Evening with Robin Williams (1982), and Robin Williams: Live at the Met (1986).

Williams appeared in his debut film “Popeye” in 1980 with his lead role with co-star Shelley Duvall. William’s astounding performance in his later films “Good Morning Vietnam” in 1987 and Dead Poets Society in 1989, entitled him with Academy Award nominations. Robin played the role of a troubled homeless man in “The Fisher King” in 1991. Robin’s other renowned films are, Moscow on the Hudson (1984), Awakenings (1990), Patch Adams (1998), Bicentennial Man (1999), Jakob the Liar (1999), One Hour Photo (2002), Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), Jumangi (1995) and Flubber (1997).

Robin earned his third Academy Award nomination and this time he remained successful by winning his first Academy Award as a best-supporting actor for his work in “Good Will Hunting (1997)”. In this film, he portrayed the role of a psychiatrist. In 2013 Robin appeared in a supporting role in the romantic comedy ” The Big Wedding”.

Williams suffered from hard knocks while his career was on bloom, he experienced some difficulties in performing stand-up shows due to Alcohol and drug addiction. Regardless of all the hardships and challenges, he still managed to perform and passed out numerous gilt-edged and iconic characters.
In 1978, Williams married Valerie Velardi, Besides his first marriage, he was also having a relationship with Elayne Boosler, a comedian. Williams’s relationship ended with Valerie Velardi and eventually divorced in 1988. William and Valerie Velardi had one child, their son Zachary Pym. Robin’s second marriage took place On April 30, 1989, when he married Marsha Garces, his son,s nanny. William had two children from Marsha, Zelda Rae Williams and Cody Alan Williams. Williams married Susan Schneider in 2011.

How did Robin Williams die?

Robin Williams committed suicide in his home in Paradise Cay, California on On August 11, 2014. His body was found dead in the home. According to the press release on August 12, by Marin Country sheriff’s office that the autopsy revealed that Robin hanged himself with the belt and died from asphyxia. The report also shown that Robin was suffering from austere distress and anxiety. According to the final report in November 2014, no sign of illegal drugs or alcohol had been shown in the test. On August 13, Robin’s wife Susan Schneider disclosed that Robin had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease.
