At the age of 19 Shinji Okazaki after graduating from the high school football club(Takigawa Daini High school) Okazaki  signed up for Shimizu S-pluse a Japanese football club  and through which he made his first appearance in  Japanese league. He was able to score three goals  with 13 appearance  for his first season. He established himself as a good and important player for this club and continued his journey scoring several goals and was transferred  to German’s club Vfb Stuttgart that started his career at Bundesliga in 2011.

His first contract with Vfb Stuttgart was for three and a half years. His debut game for vfb was in Europa league against Benfica and he was not able to score for his club on his debut match. He also made his Bundesliga’s debut appearance against Bayer 04 Leverkusen and again he was not able to score for his club  however he scored his first goal for Vfb against Hannover 96. His goal against Hannover 96 on 19th February 2012 was selected as the goal of the month in Bundesliga then, he moved to 1. FSV Mainz 05 on 2013 and made his debut goal against his former club Vfb. Consequently he established himself as one of the best japanase players in the history of Bundesliga.

Okazaki again moved to premier league side to Leicester City in 2015 and made his debut goal against West Ham United. He became the second Japanese player after Shinji Kagawa to win the premier league title. His career shows that he moved to Leicester city to win the premier league title. He has scored all together of 108 goals for his clubs and 17 goals for the club Leicester.

Okazaki has scored 50 goals in his international career and 15 goals in the year 2009 for his country Japan. He has scored against Argentina and won the game with the final score 1-0 in international friendly. He has also scored three international hat-tricks. As japan has qualified for Fifa world cup 2018 Russia Okazaki  will be playing for Japan in World cup 2018 too.
